Sourdough Starter & Danish Dough Whisk
Sourdough Starter & Danish Dough Whisk
Let's get this (bread) started.
Start making your own sourdough bread! These authentic heirloom variety sourdough starter cultures are derived from renowned sourdough bread-producing regions, each known for imparting unique, sought-after flavor and texture characteristics. Once your starter has arrived, been fed and properly maintained, the starter culture may be used continuously as a source of leavening to make a variety of baked goods, such as breads and rolls, as well as country-style pancakes and waffles.
Choose from a Swedish rye sourdough, a spelt sourdough, or a brown rice sourdough.
You'll also get a Danish dough whisk (made of birch and stainless steel), which we consider to be the ultimate tool for the bread baker. The stainless steel coil assists in developing gluten in yeasted dough before kneading and evenly combines wet and dry bread ingredients without over-mixing. It's useful beyond bread too -- it reduces clumping of thick cookie batters and sticky doughs that usually happens when using a traditional whisk or wooden mixing spoon.
