Along with making my lunch and helping prepare dinner with my mother, I was also responsible for making the morning coffee even before I began drinking it formally. I grew up a coffee lover and recall being given milky coffee at home and at the diner by my dad. Coffee ice cream was also a favorite. I almost died when I tasted espresso and cappucino for the first time in the 80's.
My dad is responsible for this creation. We sometimes had leftover coffee which was stored in a glass jar in the refrigerator. He went through a period of time where he was making smoothies as part of his breakfast. I loved the mix of sweet banana and the sharpness of coffee. I'd be inclined to try this with coconut and add some rum now also but maybe not for breakfast. —testkitchenette
