In the raw to a dried and fried state. Just one of those crazy things I love and serve to the hot pepper fans and myself with a dish of macaroni or just a breakfast of eggs and Italian bread.

Some call the peppers Italian chips or popcorn...dried and fried in olive oil. —ibbeachnana

Ingredients
  • 24-36 jalapenos with stem
Directions
  1. Using a thick thread, string the peppers through the stem, hang to dry until completely shriveled. When completely dried, cut stem and remove seeds, heat oil toss in the peppers roll them around in hot oil until puffed and crispy. Place in serving dish, sprinkle with salt, and add a little of the cooled oil for bread dipping.
