Last year I made a batch of Basil-Ginger syrup from Fine Cooking and I had plenty left and tried a little of it in a margarita. I love simple margaritas rather than flavored, but the syrup was a nice touch for a change.

Ingredients

parts sugar

part water

1 1/2
inch sliced fresh ginger

1/4 cup
fresh basil, torn
Directions

Simmer all ingredients, allow to steep 30-60 minutes, strain. add some to a margarita.
