Author Notes
This drink was popular for one day during May 1968. I came to Paris to interview for a new cook position with a family. After my meeting with Madame, a bearded dark young man spoke to me in the street. He told me he was from Peru. He asked me if I was anti-imperialist. I told him non, non, non. But he was charming and we had a good time together. He had only five bottles of his country's popular cola drink, Inca Cola. I did not like the taste. Offended, he poured some beer into my glass. "Now maybe you will like it." It was much better. —La Bonne Femme
