What a beautiful posting, sagegreen. Your creativity and heart always inspires me. I'm so sorry for the loss of your close friend. Friends who have loved us through bumps in the road of life and have known us long enough to shared our history are life's treasures indeed.

This is so kind. I just returned from my nephew's wedding. During the festivities I said to my young son if we fast-forward, he may be in this very spot 30-35 years from now at the wedding of his cousin's (my nephew's) child--the "grown-ups" will be 65 again, he will be only 50. I asked him to remember our conversation, to think of me, and to smile. Being an older mother, I do remember most days to say "thank you" for this day, for family, and friends that I know and those that I've never met. I wish Jennifer and the girls the best. My heart goes out to them.

While I sit here in tears, you went and did something - I'm stil struggling how to respond, having been on the road Friday. So sorry for the loss of your beloved friend.

Thanks, Liz. This women was a mentor and second mom to me, a great role model. But my grief pales next to Jennie's.

Only 1 step of directions, seems so easy, but how often we forget or get too busy to tell people how much they mean to us...beautifully written, thx.

Thanks, lori. I wanted to do something besides sob, which I also did...went to a memorial Friday for a dear friend of 25 years. Life is precious. We do need to make the time for what matters.
