Ingredients
  • 8 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking soda
Directions
  1. Adapted from Saveur. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine butter, sugar, molasses, egg, and milk and blend. Sift flour, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, salt, and baking soda. Carefully combine wet and dry ingredients and blend until well mixed. Drop tablespoon-sized mounds onto a greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Cool and serve.
