Excellent recipe my aunt made it last week and she send this recipe and she said the recipe idea is from late Padmashree Thangam E. Philip Renowned nutritionist from Kerala


Poori a common food in India. It is also served at special or ceremonial functions as part of ceremonial rituals along with other vegetarian food offered in prayer as prasadam. The name poori derives from the Sanskrit word p?rik?

Ingredients
  • Refined flour 1cup
  • Butter ½ tbsp
  • Mango pulp 1/2 cup
  • Sugar 1 tbsp.
  • Oil for frying
Directions
  1. Sift flour. Rub in Butter
  2. Add mango pulp and make a stiff dough.
  3. Divide into 10 equal portions and roll into thin pooris or do as I did see the photos
  4. Deep fry.
  5. Remove and sprinkle sugar
  6. Serve hot

WHAT A COOL IDEA! i love this kind of out-of-the-box thinking! thank you for the inspiration! Now,paul, what about pressing chopped nuts into the poori before frying?! and what about trying to put in a filling before frying?pleeese?

LE BEC FIN thank you. Yes you can try different variation instead of mango pulp any fresh fruit pulp from your area or try with non veg like add minced meet with little spices and fry
