Author Notes

these potatoes were inspired by a little vegetarian restaurant in vancouver called 'the naam' that serves miso gravy covered potatoes. they are asian inspired, with help from sesame and a major kick in the pants from miso paste. they are warming, earthy, umami-i, and downright delicious!

i should mention that the title of these potatoes are inspired by the slogan of another restaurant in vancouver called "The Eatery". —thefood

  2. in a medium sized bowl, add olive oil, sesame oil, miso paste, and lemon juice and mix until thoroughly incorporated.
  3. add potatoes to miso mixtuer and toss to coat using your hands or a large spoon. pour into baking dish (pyrex, dutch oven, etc) cover with foil, and place into oven. bake for 20-30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
  4. remove from oven, discard foil, and stir again. return potatoes to oven and roast until outsides are golden brown and crisped up, and potatoes are fork tender on the inside.
  5. remove from oven and sprinkle with sesame seeds and scallions and serve immedietely. note: you can season with salt if neccessary, but the brand of miso i use always seems salty enough for my liking.
