My grandmother doesn't have many recipes, and I have no idea where this one (or its name) comes from. But it's a family favorite. The name is actually quite descriptive--apples baked into goopy deliciousness with a crunchy graham cracker and butter lid. It is a mainstay at many family dinners, and a new and permanent addition to Thanksgiving. I have many memories of eating it at my grandmother's dining room table, watching my mom blitz the graham crackers in her food processor, and this year, sneaking bite after bite from the fridge long after the Thanksgiving meal was put away. Sometimes the simplest desserts are the best. My grandmother and mom always use Granny Smith apples; but I have used whatever tart, firm apples my farmer's market has on hand and it's wonderful. —tinydeckgarden

I think I need to make this for the name alone!
