My parents were married for 61 years. Right after they got married, my mom was a dutiful wife and made my dad breakfast. But he, a new teacher, was too nervous and busy for breakfast, so she quit. By the time I was old enough to notice, my dad made breakfast every morning. The first thing he did was bring my mom coffee in bed. The second was fresh squeezed orange juice. Then the menu varied... my husband was quite nervous about our family breakfast tradition, but after our first child was born, he started making breakfast! —luvcookbooks
What You'll Need
1. Make the coffee with 6 cups of water. Pour into mugs and bring upstairs to Meg and Nathaniel.
2. Cut up the oranges into sections and peel away the pith and peel from the sections with your fingers. Fill up three bowls with oranges. The big one is for Eric and Meg to share and the other two go to Emma and Nathaniel.
Toast the bread and spread with peanut butter and/or jam. Serve and enjoy with the paper or news. Repeat every weekday for 20 years!
