Serves: 10-15


  • 3/4 pound butter softened
  • 1/2 cup butter flavored shortening(CRISCO)
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons strawberry extract
  • 20 ounces whipped topping(any brand)
  • 2 pounds fresh strawberries
  • 4 tablespoons white Rum
  • 3 tablespoons water


  • 4 cups sugar
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  1. preheat oven @ 350
  2. in large bowl combine butter & shortening
  3. add in sugar 1 cup at a time
  4. add in eggs 1 at a time
  5. in a medium bowl combine flour, baking powder, and salt(DRY MIX)
  6. add 1 cup of dry mix into wet mix
  7. add a 1/4 cup of milk to mixture
  8. keep adding the dry mix and milk in this order until all gone
  9. add 3tsp strawberry extract and 2tsp of rum
  10. place in your favorite angel food cake pan and bake 35-45 min
  11. in large bowl combine whipped topping and powdered sugar
  12. slice strawberries in half & place in small bowl, sprinkle with a little sugar, cover, place in fridge
  13. In med sauce, add 1stick of butter, 1 cup of sugar, 3tbsp water, 6 strawberries
  14. heat on medium low, stir till well mixed
  15. remove from heat,add remaining extract and rum, pour glaze over warm cake
  16. (optional) repeat previous 3 steps for 2 days for the STRAWBERRY KICK
  17. when cake has cooled. ice the sides with whipped topping mix, top with strawberries, ENJOY
