Ingredients
- THE WET
-
3/4 pound
butter softened
-
1/2 cup
butter flavored shortening(CRISCO)
-
5
eggs
-
1 cup
whole milk
-
4 tablespoons
strawberry extract
-
20 ounces
whipped topping(any brand)
-
2 pounds
fresh strawberries
-
4 tablespoons
white Rum
-
3 tablespoons
water
- THE DRY
-
4 cups
sugar
-
3 cups
all purpose flour
-
1/2 teaspoon
salt
-
1/2 teaspoon
baking powder
-
1 cup
powdered sugar
Directions
-
preheat oven @ 350
-
in large bowl combine butter & shortening
-
add in sugar 1 cup at a time
-
add in eggs 1 at a time
-
in a medium bowl combine flour, baking powder, and salt(DRY MIX)
-
add 1 cup of dry mix into wet mix
-
add a 1/4 cup of milk to mixture
-
keep adding the dry mix and milk in this order until all gone
-
add 3tsp strawberry extract and 2tsp of rum
-
place in your favorite angel food cake pan and bake 35-45 min
-
in large bowl combine whipped topping and powdered sugar
-
slice strawberries in half & place in small bowl, sprinkle with a little sugar, cover, place in fridge

In med sauce, add 1stick of butter, 1 cup of sugar, 3tbsp water, 6 strawberries
-
heat on medium low, stir till well mixed
-
remove from heat,add remaining extract and rum, pour glaze over warm cake
-
(optional) repeat previous 3 steps for 2 days for the STRAWBERRY KICK
-
when cake has cooled. ice the sides with whipped topping mix, top with strawberries, ENJOY
