Maple Strawberry Cake

Serves: 2 x 20 cm cakes

  • 125 grams butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 180 milliliters milk
  • 250 milliliters cream
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla sugar
  • 250 grams strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 cup water
  1. In a kitchen machine, combine the butter and sugar. Mix for about 5 minutes until pale and fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs, one at a time.
  3. Pour the mixture in well greased moulds and bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked through. Let them cool completely.
  4. Whip up the cream with the vanilla sugar until stiff peaks form.
  5. End with the maple strawberries and place the rest of the fresh strawberries around the cake. Enjoy!
