Author Notes: In summer, breakfast in Sicily, means almond granita on a sweet bun with a spoonful of whipped cream. It's usually made with water and almond paste = almonds+sugar. Oh, and it's supposed to come somewhat soft rather than flakey. —One Lazy Tooth
- 60 grams almonds
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 250 milliliters water
- Place everything in a blender until smooth.
- Pour the liquid in an ice cube tray and freeze.
- Crush the cubes in an ice crusher. Some blenders can crush ice, too, it will be in the blender's instructions.
