Author Notes: As the gin-based cocktails of summer fade to the back of our repertoires, fall calls for a more rich, deeper flavor. Bee's Knees is a classic summertime gin-based cocktail with lemon juice and honey syrup. I found an aged rum in my liquor cabinet and was inspired to make an autumnal riff on this classic. —beemar

- 3/4 ounce Lemon Juice
- 3/4 ounce Honey Syrup
- 1 dash Angostura Bitters
- 1 Maraschino Cherry
- Prepare the honey syrup by combining 3 parts honey and 1 part water in a small saucepan, bringing to a boil, and then removing from the heat.
