As the gin-based cocktails of summer fade to the back of our repertoires, fall calls for a more rich, deeper flavor. Bee's Knees is a classic summertime gin-based cocktail with lemon juice and honey syrup. I found an aged rum in my liquor cabinet and was inspired to make an autumnal riff on this classic. —beemar
Ingredients

1 3/4 ounces
Aged Rum

3/4 ounce
Lemon Juice

3/4 ounce
Honey Syrup

1 dash
Angostura Bitters

Maraschino Cherry
Directions

Prepare the honey syrup by combining 3 parts honey and 1 part water in a small saucepan, bringing to a boil, and then removing from the heat.

Combine the rum, lemon juice, honey syrup, and bitters in a cocktail shaker with abundant ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Double strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a cherry.
