Maple Ginger Raisin Cookies

These cookies are the perfect treat during the holidays. They are moist, chewy, and have that little bit of spice to make your palate grin. This recipe is a keeper and one you will be asked for time and again! —Julia Case

Ingredients
  • 2 cups white flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon maple extract
  • 1/2 cup butter {room temperature}
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup unsulfured molasses
  • 1 cup raisins
Directions
  1. Beat butter, sugar, vanilla, ginger, maple extract, and nutmeg until fluffy. Add egg and molasses and mix well. Add flour, salt, baking soda, and raisins. Mix well. Cover and let sit in fridge for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll balls of dough in sugar and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet lined with parchment. Bake for 16 minutes just until centers are set. Let cool. Store in airtight container for up to a week.
