Ingredients

oil

1 cup
butter
-
1 cup
sugar

1 cup
powdered sugar

eggs

1 teaspoon
vanilla

1 teaspoon
baking soda

1 teaspoon
cream of tartar

1/2 teaspoon
salt

4 1/2 cups
flour
Directions

Mix all ingredients (except flour) well until smooth and creamy. Add 2-3 cups flour. Stir in remaining flour (on lowest mixer setting or) by hand. A soft dough that benefits from keeping cold. Roll spoonfuls about the size of a grape on cookie sheet and flatten with cookie stamp or fancy-bottomed glass dipped in sugar.

Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes. Do not brown.
