My favorite warm-weather beverage is sun tea, which my mother used to make in large jars and leave to steep in the backyard during the summer. I was trying to reimagine sweet tea vodka and lemonade in a way that wasn't so cloyingly sweet that merely thinking about it would give you a hangover. The subtle, mellow flavor of sun tea came to mind. The result is a refreshing warm-weather quaff that echoes the flavors of an Arnold Palmer (alcoholic or non), minus the overbearing sweetness, and without the pain the next morning. An excellent choice for daydrinkers who want to last the night, sip this concoction on a deck, on a patio, on a fire escape, on a rooftop, on a stoop, poolside, or anywhere else the sun is shining and summer is in the air. —Chris Hagan
