Mint juleps are delightful, but drinking more than one can be a recipe for disaster. This recipe pairs mint and bourbon with sweet tea for a treat that's a bit less boozy but just as refreshing. —Marshmallows&Margaritas

Ingredients

2 1/4 cups
water (divided)

family-sized tea bag, or 2 normal tea bags

1 cup
simple syrup

1/2 cup
bourbon

1/4 cup
loosely packed mint leaves

1 teaspoon
lemon juice
Directions

Bring 2 cups water to a boil in a teapot or saucepan. Remove from heat and add teabag (s). Cover and allow to steep for 10 minutes. Discard teabag and chill tea until cool.

Stir chilled tea together with 1 cup simple syrup, the bourbon and 1/4 cup water.

Rinse and chop mint leaves, then stir the pieces of mint and lemon juice into the mixture. If you taste it at this point, it should be a little sweeter than you want the sorbet to be.

Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and process until frozen. Store sorbet in the freezer.
