Author Notes: A new take on the classic cocktail, sure to please even the most stubborn of whiskey drinkers. —Matthew Wickham
- 2 ounces Dark rum
- 1/4 ounce Demerara simple syrup
- 2-3 dashes Angostura (or other aromatic) bitters
- Orange peel (optional)
- In a mixing glass add ingredients on top of one another add ice stir until condensation forms on the glass.
- Strain into a chilled old fashioned glass garnish with an orange peel. (Optional) Serve on the rocks for a less intense experience.
