Reverse-engineered based on a passage in his memoirs and a scene in The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, this is the method that surrealist film director Luis Buñuel used to make his Martinis, and while it's unconventional, we think it's fantastic. —Let's Drink About It

Ingredients
  • 2.5 ounces Gin
  • .5 ounces Dry vermouth
  • 2 dashes angostura bitters
Directions
  1. Fill a mixing glass with ice. Add the vermouth and bitters. Stir and then strain out and discard the excess liquid.
  2. Add the gin and stir until well-chilled.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
