Broiled Swordfish – Italian Style

Author Notes: I love seafood and swordfish is my absolute favorite. This recipe is inspired by many wonderful Italian ingredients and goes well next to a simple salad, along with a nice glass of white wine.

Serves 4

  • 4 Swordfish steaks
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 2-3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • 3-4 basil leaves, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Flat leaf Italian parsley, chopped
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  1. Pre-heat oven to 360 degrees
  2. While the over is pre-heating, place the washed swordfish steaks in an oven-proof baking dish, such as a Pyrex baking pan
  3. In a small bowl mix well the juice of one lemon, the olive oil, oregano, salt, garlic, basil and parsley.
  4. Top the swordfish with the lemon/olive oil mixture, making sure the fish is very well covered with the seasonings
  5. Top the steaks with a few lemon slices each
  6. Bake 20-25 minutes
