It’s a kind of recipe that most of us need more of in our life.
You know the kind:
Just delicious and easy and every single person that you give it to, they hum into their bowl, like happy little clams. And then, want the recipe for themselves.
It’s the kind of recipe that gets around that way. That gets made for times when what you’re really wanting to do is give that person a hug. But in meal form. Those are the best kind of meals. The ones that are nourishing, on so many levels.
Think cozy low key dinner parties with close friends (where I first got inspired), Sunday night family dinners, delivering meals to friends with new babies, to superbowl parties (let’s just say).
The fact that it’s healthy is kind of just a bonus.
So, this. Sweet Potato Turkey Chili. —Simply Real Health

Ingredients

1 pound
organic ground turkey (or chicken/beef - optional)

3
yams/sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped

head celery

5
carrots, chopped

1
yellow onion, chopped

cans baked beans, top liquid drained off

red peppers, chopped

2
large cans whole peeled tomatoes

2-4 cups
organic chicken stock
-
1 teaspoon
cumin
-
1 teaspoon
chili powder
-
1 teaspoon
oregano
-
sea salt and pepper to taste
Directions

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and saute until translucent, stirring as you need to. Add to the crockpot. Turn up heat to medium high and brown the turkey. Add to the crockpot.

Add all other ingredients to the crockpot, stir and season generously with sea salt and pepper. Cook for 4 hours on high, or 6 hours on low, depending on your crockpot settings.

To garnish: cooked quinoa, avocado, whole milk sour cream, cheese, green onions, organic corn chips.
