Gyro Burgers with tzatziki and cucumber salad

Ingredients
  • Gyro Burgers
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground lamb
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon marjoram
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground rosemary
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Tzatziki sauce and cumber salad toppings
  • 1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh mint, minced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon lemon rind
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 small cucumber, seeded and diced
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons extra virign olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Directions
  1. Gyro Burgers
  2. Combine all ingredients above.
  3. Form into patties.
  4. Grill on medium heat.
  1. Tzatziki sauce and cumber salad toppings
  2. To make tzatziki, combine yogurt, cucumber, mint, garlic, lemon rind, lemon juice, olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  3. To make cucumber salad, combine 1/2 small cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, and feta cheese. In a separate bowl, make vinaigrette by combining olive oil, vinegar and salt and pepper. Pour over cucumber mixture and mix to combine.
