Author Notes: Walnuts are a rich, healthy base for this delicious mouth watering traditional basil pesto sauce or spread, add flavor to any dish! —Kelli @Hungry Hobby
- 2 cups walnut
- 1/2 avocado, pitted and skinned
- 1.5 cups water
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- Combine walnuts, avocado, basil, garlic and cheese (or cheese sub) into food processor, pulse until meal forms.
- Add avocado, lemon juice and water and process until smooth. For a thinner consistency add more water, for a thicker spread add less water.
