The recipe is a little minimalist but that just leaves room for some creativity and the flavors are amazing! I used 2 lbs ground beef because big family, 4 TBS fresh sage, about 3/4 cup chopped cranraisins, juice of one orange, 2 TBS bread crumbs (didn't have flax seed) to hold it together and salt and pepper. I decided adding the pear to the meat would make it too liquidy and there was no way it would stick together, may be different if using flaxseed but I'm glad I did what I did. I instead sliced the pear on top of the burger with gruyere, arugula, and a little mayo. Seriously soo delicious. One kid said it tasted like summer thanksgiving and my husband claimed the leftover patty as his. It is going in the favorites pile.
