Author Notes: Grandmother's recipe - peperoni , garlic, olive oil and old newspapers to pull a simple and delicious culinary rabbit out of the hatPeppino

Serves: 2

  • 4-8 peperoni
  • 1 bunch fresh peppermint
  • garlic as you like
  • 1-3 pinches salt
  • 1-5 tablespoons olive oil extra vergine
  • 1 newspaper ;-)
  1. Grill the peperoni on all sides until they turn black burned. Wrap them in a old newspaper in order to cool gently wetting the newspaper for 3-5 minutes. This will help to peel them easily. Now remove the burned skin using your fingers.
  2. Cut them in half and eliminate the stem on the top and all seeds inside. Then slice all peperoni longitudinal in slim strips. The slimmer and the longer the better.
  3. This dish develops cold a nice and juicy flavour and the texture will surprise you. Salad or sandwiches, just simple and amazing.
