Author Notes

I rarely make these wings any more for one reason. They are just too good and I eat too many. Sometimes simple is best with food and only 2 ingredients and a Weber type grill is needed here. The Weber grill is crucial to be able to cook the wings at high heat without flare-ups. Try it, I promise you will like it. —jeff g

Ingredients
  • Chicken wings
  • Blue Front Barb-B-Q sauce - Hot
Directions
  1. In a Weber type kettle grill, light charcoal in a chimney starter and when hot, spread over appr. 2/3 of grill area. Put on grill grate and put lid on with vents open.
  2. When grill is hot, put wings on grill grate directly over hot coal portion of grill and replace lid. With the lid closed, the wings can cook without flare ups, allowing them to render and brown without burning. Although there will be a lot of smoke, you may wish to warn any close neighbors.
  3. Check wings every few minutes to monitor browning, turn as needed to brown all sides, replace lid. As wings are browned, move them to cool side of grill, replace lid
  4. When all wings are browned and cooked through, 15-20 minutes, place them in a large bowl and toss to coat with Blue Front Hot Barb-B-Q sauce. Blue Front is available in South Florida, or through the internet if you live somewhere else. You can use you favorite sauce, but it will just not be the same with out Blue Front
