- 6 cups fresh cranberries
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 star anise
- 1 orange, juice and zest
- 1 pinch kosher salt
- Put all ingredients in a medium pot and bring to a boil over a medium-high flame. Lower the flame to medium-low and let simmer for 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Remove from the heat, let cool to room temp. Remove the star anise and cinnamon stick. Serve cool or room temp.
