Author Notes
Star anise, a licorice-flavored spice from Southeast Asia, is thought to be beneficial for digestion (reduces bloating, stomach pain, and, um, flatulence), which makes this a nice accompaniment to a morning plate of bread and cheese. Try it—it's delicious!
This recipe comes from my cookbook Dutch Feast.
