Author Notes

The perfect morning or mid-day pick-me-up!

Maca is considered one of the world's natural "super foods" and is considered an adaptogen (plants and substances that help the body naturally adapt to life's stressors). Maca is packed with antioxidants and amino acids, and has been shown to boost energy!

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup raw pepitas
  • 1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup nut of your choice (I suggest pistachios, cashews or almonds)
  • 1 tablespoon maca powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup (based on your desired level of sweetness)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 3-4 tablespoons water (start with 3T, adjust as needed)
Directions
  1. In a food processor or high-speed blender , grind up the nut of your choice, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, pepitas and maca powder to a coarse consistency.
  2. Then, add the maple syrup and 3T of water and continue to pulse until a dough forms. Add an additional 1T of water if needed.
  3. Roll into balls and place in the freezer for 5 minutes.
  4. Snack on immediately, or store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks! Alternatively, can store in the freezer for months.
