Anna Lou’s Nibble mix

A spicy variation of the traditional Chex mix. —J Bintzer

  • Prep time 10 minutes
  • Cook time 1 hour
  • Makes 8-9 cups
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup margarine (1 stick)
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Parmesan to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups Corn Chex
  • 2 cups Wheat Chex
  • 2 cups Rice Chex
  • 2 cups Cheerios
  • 1 cup Peanuts
  • 1 cup small pretzels (optional)

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 225°.
  2. Combine the cereals, peanuts and pretzels in a 13 x 9 baking pan.
  3. Melt the margarine in a glass bowl in the microwave. Add the Worcestershire and the spices.
  4. Pour the margarine spice mixture over the cereal and stir to coat evenly.
  5. Bake at 225° for about an hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle with Parmesan and salt to taste.
