Adapted from Martha Stewart's One-Pan Pasta
This is uploaded for the Recipe Off Roading Challenge
My changes to the original:
Strait side skillet changed to a 3 quart pot:
Why? I didn't have a large enough skillet
Linguine changed to Cavatappi
Why? I need a short pasta to fit in the pot. This one had the same cook time as Linguinie
Changed basil to rosemary
Because I think rosemary goes well with pork.
Added ground pork .75 lbs
I hoped that the starch from the pasta would blend with the pork fat and leave a rich coating on the pasta.
Results: Bland Soup
This did not work. :(
I think using a pot instead of a skillet was a problem. Without a large surface area the tomatoes and onions were not in contact with the pan. They were bland, boiled and barely cooked.
Adding the pork was good. I'm glad I did because that was the only thing that gave the pasta water some flavor
