Author Notes

A riff on Martha Stewart's One-Pan Pasta using broccoli rabe and lemon. I love the contrast of the bitter broccoli rabe and bright lemon together with the pasta. —Jessica Kress

What You'll Need
  • 12 ounces Linguine
  • 1 bunch Broccoli Rabe, chopped
  • 1 Large Onion, sliced
  • 4 Garlic Cloves, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil, plus more for serving
  • 1 Lemon, zested and juiced
  • Kosher Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • 4 1/2 cups Water
  • Pecorino Cheese, grated
  1. Add the pasta, broccoli rabe, onion, garlic, red-pepper flakes, oil, 2 teaspoons salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and water in a large pan so that the pasta lays flat.
  2. Heat the pasta over high heat until it boils and cook on a hard simmer until pasta is al dente and water is mostly gone, about 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat and add the lemon zest and lemon juice. Check for seasoning and adjust to taste. Serve with olive oil and Pecorino.
