Created this simple flavoured dish using fresh out of sea “crab” (no complexity here but only imaginative creation)! Just simple and quick recipe with fresh tropical flavours coming from super fresh ingredients 🦀🌴🌊🥥 .
In this “Tropical flavoured Crab” 😊; you will enjoy fresh sweet flavours from the crab meat, heat from Thai bird chilli, fruity sourness from kokum (belonging to mangosteen family), creamy texture from butter plus coconut milk and sharpness from garlic and black pepper.

Ingredients
- Salted Butter, black pepper powder, garlic, Thai bird chilli, parsley.

Medium sized sea crabs (cleaned from inside with shells retained)
- One fourth portion of garlicky herb butter prepared in above process, coconut milk, kokum (mangosteen family) juice, salt to taste, Thai bird chilli, parsley

Portion of already prepared garlicky herb butter

Kokum juice (by soaking the dried kokum in warm water for 5 mins; if unavailable can be replaced by lemon juice)

Tender coconut shells Optional (cut into halves)
Directions
- Salted Butter, black pepper powder, garlic, Thai bird chilli, parsley.

Prepare garlicky herb butter by mixing all the above ingredients.

Take 3/4th portion of the prepared garlicky herb butter and apply it all over the crab (body as well inside the shell cover) .

Tie the crab with it’s shell over it using a clean washed thread. These mentioned preparation steps will take 10 mins at max (assuming crabs are cleaned already)
- One fourth portion of garlicky herb butter prepared in above process, coconut milk, kokum (mangosteen family) juice, salt to taste, Thai bird chilli, parsley

Add garlicky herb butter in a wide pan heated on low flame.

Place the marinated crabs in the pan for cooking with lids on for 5 mins on medium flame

Then add coconut milk, kokum juice, chillies and parsley and salt to taste over the crabs and give a nice shake and stir to the pan in circular direction.

Cook the crabs in this coconut milk sauce for another 5-7 mins on medium flame

Switch off the flame, once the crab looks cooked and coconut milk mixture reduced to nice thick delicious sauce.

Let the crabs be in the pan for another 2 mins post switching off the gas so that the natural juices from the crabs and the creamy sauce do further magic.

Transfer the crabs and delicious creamy buttery sauce of coconut milk, kokum and herbs mixed over the crab and over the tender coconut shells and garnish with some parsley.

These cooking steps will take another 10 mins at max. So overall, your delicious tropical flavoured crabs are ready in under 20 mins.
