The classic Russian recipe of beef stroganoff using ground beef, onions, beef broth, and heavy cream for a rich and flavorful sauce served over egg noodles. —Dash of Amy

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 teaspoons salt, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, divided
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 package egg noodles, cooked & strained
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
Directions
  1. Heat a deep skillet over medium heat, melt the butter, then add the chopped onions.
  2. Cook for about 2 minutes, then add the beef and garlic, mix well.
  3. Add 1 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper, and cook until beef is cooked through, about 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the flour and mix well.
  5. Add the broth, cream, Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper and bring to a boil.
  6. Cook 2-3 minutes until mixture thickens.
  7. Place cooked egg noodles in a large baking dish and pour beef mixture over the top mixing well.
  8. Sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve hot.
