Whenever I need to kick it up a notch with my lunches, I usually turn to Thai food. With its perfect balance of sweet, savory, acid, and spicy, Thai food will get me out of a food funk. This easy Thai basil beef stir fry is perfect with some steamed jasmine rice. You can make a large batch and eat for a few days. So easy and so delicious! —jennskitchendiary

Ingredients

1/2 pound
flank steak or ribeye, cut into thin strips

1/2 tablespoon
soy sauce

1 teaspoon
corn starch

2 tablespoons
oil

1
bell pepper, sliced

1/2
onion, sliced

garlic cloves, minced
-
1
jalapeno, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon
oyster sauce

1 teaspoon
sugar

1 bunch
basil
Directions

Marinate steak in soy sauce and corn starch. Allow to sit at least 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, prep other ingredients: slice bell pepper, onion, jalapeno. Mince garlic.

Turn on wok or skillet on high. When pan is hot, add half the oil. When oil is shimmery, add flank steak and stir fry for 3-5 minutes until beef is just cooked through. Then remove from heat.

Add the other half of th oil to the skillet, and when oil is shimmery, add in garlic, bell pepper, onions, and red jalapeno. Stir fry for 3-5 minutes, until vegetables are slightly softened.

Add in beef, oyster sauce, sugar, and basil. Stir fry another minute. Taste and adjust for seasoning.

When basil has softened, remove from heat and serve with white rice.
