Instant Pot Mixed Lentils (Gujarati Chevti/Trevti Dal)

Chevti Dal (also known as Trevti Dal) is a simple, vegetarian recipe that incorporates three different types of lentils (moong dal, urad dal, and chana dal) with authentic Indian spices. —WarriorInTheKitchen

What You'll Need
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 4-6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2-5 green chilis, sliced lengthwise
  • 1/2 cup yellow mung (moong) dal
  • 1/4 cup urad dal
  • 1/4 cup chana dal
  • 5 cups water
  1. Set Instant Pot to 'Saute' mode.
  2. Add avocado oil, garlic, ginger, and green chilis.
  3. Wash all three dals (lentils) and add to Instant Pot.
  4. Add water, salt and turmeric and mix well.
  5. Close the lid on the IP. Press 'Cancel' and then 'Bean/Chili' mode and set timer to 15 minutes.
  6. Move valve to 'Sealing position'.
