What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • For the cookies:
  • 1 cup flour
  • 8 tablespoons cold butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons orange zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the chocolate glaze:
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2/3 cup bittersweet chocolate
Directions
  1. For the cookies:
  2. By hand or using a stand mixer, combine honey, vanilla extract and butter together in a big bowl until smooth. Add flour, cinnamon, orange zest and salt. Use a fork or clean hands to combine until crumbly dough forms.
  3. Shape dough into a 1 inch diameter log, wrap in plastic wrap and chill in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes but as long as overnight.
  4. When dough is chilled, preheat oven to 325. Slice dough into 1/2 inch thick pieces and place on cookie sheet two inches apart. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until set and golden brown on the edges. Transfer to rack to cool.
  1. For the chocolate glaze:
  2. While cookies are cooling, melt butter in a small mixing bowl placed over a pot of simmering water. Add chocolate and stir until smooth and glossy.
  3. Remove bowl of chocolate from pot and dip cooled cookies halfway into warm chocolate mixture. Sprinkle with more orange zest, crumbled almonds or whatever sounds good to you.
