Banana Nugget Cookies

A soft, oatmeal and chocolate-chip cookie with added spice and bananas.
Ingredients
- 1.5 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg
- 0.75 teaspoon cinnamon
- 0.25 cup shortening
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup mashed, ripe banana (about 2-3 bananas)
- 1.75 cup quick-cook oats
- 1 cup chocolate chips

Directions
- Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F/180C.
- Step 2
Sift the flour and baking soda into a bowl.
- Step 3
Rub in the shortening.
- Step 4
Add the rest of the dry ingredients. Then the egg and banana and mix until blended.
- Step 5
Scoop onto a lined baking sheet, leaving some room for the cookies to spread.
- Step 6
Bake for around 15 minutes or until golden.
- Step 7
Remove to a wire rack to cool (although they taste great while still warm!)
