Ingredients

1.5 cups
all-purpose flour

1 cup
sugar

0.5 teaspoons
baking soda

1 teaspoon
salt

0.25 teaspoons
nutmeg

0.75 teaspoons
cinnamon

shortening

egg, beaten

1 cup
mashed, ripe banana (about 2-3 bananas)

1.75 cups
quick-cook oats

1 cup
chocolate chips
Directions

Preheat oven to 350F/180C.

Sift the flour and baking soda into a bowl.

Rub in the shortening.

Add the rest of the dry ingredients. Then the egg and banana and mix until blended.

Scoop onto a lined baking sheet, leaving some room for the cookies to spread.

Bake for around 15 minutes or until golden.

Remove to a wire rack to cool (although they taste great while still warm!)
