Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons nutmeg
  • 0.75 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 0.25 cups shortening
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup mashed, ripe banana (about 2-3 bananas)
  • 1.75 cups quick-cook oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350F/180C.
  2. Sift the flour and baking soda into a bowl.
  3. Rub in the shortening.
  4. Add the rest of the dry ingredients. Then the egg and banana and mix until blended.
  5. Scoop onto a lined baking sheet, leaving some room for the cookies to spread.
  6. Bake for around 15 minutes or until golden.
  7. Remove to a wire rack to cool (although they taste great while still warm!)
