A scrumptious side dish of brussel sprouts, onions, bacon, and heavy cream, topped with bread crumbs and cheese. Perfect for Thanksgiving! —Dash of Amy

Ingredients
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cups brussel sprouts, stems cut off then quartered
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices turkey bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (Italian blend)
Directions
  1. Add 1 tbsp olive oil and onions to a heated deep skillet.
  2. Cook for about 3 minutes, then add the chopped brussel sprouts and another tbsp of olive oil and mix well.
  3. Add the chicken broth, bring to a boil, and cook for about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the heavy cream and bacon, cook an additional minute.
  5. Transfer to a baking dish. Mix bread crumbs and cheese in a small bowl; sprinkle evenly over the casserole.
  6. Bake uncovered at 400* for 15 minutes.
