Cheese Sauce

This is a delicious and creamy cheese sauce made from cheddar and mature cheddar cheese.
The ingredients are easily obtainable at any supermarket

What You'll Need
  • 100 grams Mature Cheddar (grated)
  • 200 grams Cheddar (grated)
  • 4 teaspoons Corn Starch (heaped)
  • 50 grams Butter
  • Dash of Turmeric
  • Pinch of MSG
  • 1 liter Fresh Cream
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  1. Melt your butter in a saucepan on low, taking care not to burn the butter
  2. When most of the butter is melted add the corn flour and stir continuously. The corn flour and butter will form a paste in the bottom of your saucepan.
  3. Add a handful of the grated cheddar and the grated mature cheddar and a quarter of your milk. (i.e. two handfuls of cheese with a cup of cream) then mix until the cheese is melted. Take care not to burn the sauce, turn your stovetop to low. Repeat this process until all the cream has been used. You should now have a saucy mixture.
  4. Add your turmeric, msg and pepper at this point and mix in. Add the rest of your cheese as well and continue to stir. Your sauce will now start to thicken with a lovely yellow color. Simmer until bubbling and mix one last time.
  5. Your sauce is now ready to be served.
