Test Kitchen Notes
There’s simply nothing quite like escaping the chill of winter on a tropical getaway—digging your toes into the sand while sunbathing with a frosty beverage in hand. But if you can’t make it to your dream destination this winter, you can create an at-home oasis with this mocktail that’s equal parts fiery and fruity.
In this recipe, LaCroix Sparkling Water’s Guava São Paulo is paired with lime and a touch of heat to enhance the sweet, slightly tart taste of guava. The spice comes from an almost effortless hot honey that’s made by combining hot sauce and honey in the microwave before adding it to a glass (don’t forget the chili-salted rim!). Garnish with a lime round, then sip your way to paradise.

Ingredients
-
4 tablespoons
honey
-
2 teaspoons
hot sauce
-
2
limes, divided
-
1 teaspoon
chili powder
-
1/2 teaspoon
kosher salt
-
2
(12-ounce) cans LaCroix Sparkling Water Guava São Paulo, chilled
Directions
-
In a microwave-safe cup, combine honey, hot sauce, and 4 teaspoons water. Stir until combined, then microwave for 20 seconds. Cool completely.
-
While the spicy honey mixture cools, combine the chili powder and salt on a flat plate. Cut 1 lime into 5 even rounds. Wet the rim of each glass with 1 of the lime rounds, then dip the rim of each glass into the chili-salt mixture to coat. Set the remaining lime rounds aside for garnish.
-
Next, add 1 ½ tablespoons of spicy honey to each glass. Cut the remaining lime into small wedges and divide evenly between the 4 glasses. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, mash the lime wedges to release their juices.
-
Fill each glass with crushed ice and pour half a can of LaCroix Guava São Paulo into each cup. Garnish each drink with one of the remaining 4 lime rounds. Enjoy immediately.
