Sweet or savory, these large, thin pancakes are an amazing treat for any meal in the Netherlands. Filled or not, they are eaten either with your hands, or with a knife and fork. This dish is extremely flexible with how you can personalize it with your favorite ingredients, so you easily love this recipe! —ReisMetOns

Ingredients

2 cups
all purpose flour, unbleached

2 cups
milk

eggs

2 tablespoons
butter, melted

1 tablespoon
vanilla

1/2 teaspoon
salt

butter, for cooking
Directions

In a small bowl, whisk the eggs. Add the vanilla, melted butter, and milk.

In a large bowl, sift the flour and salt. Add the egg mixture slowly to the flour, stirring until free of lumps.

Heat butter in an 8 or 10-inch skillet over medium heat. Pour 1/3 to 1/2 cup of the batter into the pan.

Fry until the top is dry and the edges start separating from the skillet, about 2 minutes.

Flip and fry for 1-2 minutes more, until golden. Transfer to servings plate.

Repeat steps 3-5 until all of the batter is used.

Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon, roll, and serve.

Optional: drizzle with either melted chocolate or honey, and serve with fresh fruit on the side.
