Author Notes
These Carne Asada tacos are a simply delicious ode to spring weather and the start of grill season! The marinade and steak is the star of the show and I typically use skirt steak for Carne Asada! The beer, orange and lime help flavor and tenderize the steak while the salt is adding a deep salty seasoning all through the meat! I take a lot of inspiration from Mexican cuisine and depending on where you're at in Mexico tacos can look very similar to this! These tacos are simple, delicious and addicting. Good luck trying to just eat a few, the flavor vibes will keep you coming back for more and more! —Lorenzo Tavani
Ingredients
-
1.5 pounds
Skirt Steak
-
2
Chopped Onions
-
2 bunches
Chopped Cilantro
-
16
Corn Tortillas
-
1
orange
-
3 tablespoons
Lime Juice
-
2
limes cut into wedges
-
3 teaspoons
salt
-
2 teaspoons
black pepper
-
1
Modelo Beer
Directions
-
Marinade your steak in lime, Modelo beer, orange, salt and pepper. Allow this to marinade for at least an hour and up to 6 hours.
-
Fire up your grill and get it nice and hot.
Chop your onion, cilantro and lime for garnish.
-
Sear the steak on both sides on the screaming hot grill! You want some nice semi-charred flavor going on!
-
Allow your steak to rest 10 minutes before cutting into it. This is called resting and will allow the steak to hold onto all of its juices.
-
Grill your tortillas lightly and wrap them in a towel to stay warm.
-
Slice your steak across the grain first and then into tiny pieces. Nobody wants a super chewy bite of steak.
-
Assemble tacos with steak, onion and cilantro in your tortillas. Squeeze lime on top and enjoy them as hot as possible!
