I came across the original recipe in a favorite cookbook of mine I got several years ago. I decided to replace the peanut butter the recipe initially called for with Speculoos Cookie Butter, and honestly I prefer it this way, especially fresh out of the oven : ) —Swara Bhatt

Ingredients

6 tablespoons
Unsalted Butter, Softened

0.25 cups
Speculoos Cookie Butter

0.5 cups
Granulated Sugar

0.5 cups
Packed Brown Sugar

0.25 cups
Applesauce
-
1 teaspoon
Vanilla Extract

1.25 cups
All-Purpose Flour
-
0.5 teaspoons
Baking Soda

0.25 teaspoons
Salt

1 cup
Milk Chocolate Chips
Directions

In a small bowl, cream the butter, cookie butter, and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in applesauce and vanilla.

Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.

Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 F for 11-14 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks.
