Author Notes

Thanks to the Starbucks Olive Oil Coffee, we've seen an uptick in all kinds of new coffee infusions. This viral coffee trend may sound offputting at first, but infusing pepper in your coffee compliments the natural flavor of the beans. For best results, we recommend using a high-quality brand like Watkins Organic Ground Black Pepper to ensure the flavor is strong enough to stand up against the coffee. Give this brew method a try for some added complexity to your morning breakfast routine. —The Watkins Co.

What You'll Need
Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon Watkins Organic Ground Black Pepper
  • 8 ounces hot water
  • 2 tablespoons ground coffee
Directions
  1. Set up your preferred coffee maker as you usually would using ground dark roast coffee beans. You can use a drip coffee maker, pour-over, French press, espresso, AeroPress, stovetop (like a Moka espresso maker) or even a cold brew coffee maker.
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of Watkins Organic Ground Black Pepper for every 8 fl oz of water to the coffee grounds before brewing. Make sure to stir the coffee grounds and black pepper until evenly mixed.
  3. Brew your coffee as normal. Remember, the longer the brewing time, the stronger the final drink will be.
  4. Serve your blac pepper coffee with milk, cream or even an extra sprinkle of pepper on top.
