My husband's favorite winter comfort food. Not particularly healthy, but oh so delicious for that occasional indulgence. —Cindy Young
Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds
ground beef

onion, chopped

4 ounces
chopped canned black olives

bag Dorito chips (original)

4 ounces
Monterey Jack cheese, shredded

2 packets
taco seasoning

8 oz cans tomato sauce

1 pint
cottage cheese

1 pint
sour cream
Directions

Saute ground beef and onions in a large pan.

Add olives, tomato sauce and taco seasoning and mix well.

Simmer 25 minutes for flavors to mingle.

In a medium bowl, mix cottage cheese and sour cream together.

In a casserole dish large enough to accommodate all the ingredients, crush the Dorito chips to about a 1 inch depth on the bottom of the casserole dish.

Layer the meat, then cottage cheese mixture, then Monterey Jack cheese...repeat ending with the Jack cheese on top.

Bake at 375 F. for 20-35 minutes. Allow to rest about 10 minutes after taking from the oven.

Serve with a simple green salad. Bon appetit!

Can be made ahead and refrigerated till ready to bake. Bring to room temperature before putting in the oven.
